Born in the 70s means hours of dancing under the sparkling light of disco balls, so it’s no wonder I’ve always been fascinated by those glittering balls. I’ve also been meaning for a long time to buy some and fill my fireplace with, which is exactly what I did last Christmas! When the time came for the Christmas tree and all other season decorations to be put away in a box till next December, storing the disco balls along with them just didn’t feel right. Do you want to decorate your house with disco balls? Then read on!
Disco balls are the perfect decoration piece for every house especially if you happen to live in a light-drenched apartment as mine. I have now decorated almost every room with disco balls. So here are some pictures to inspire you!
Sunlit for the most part of the day my living room makes the ideal place for a disco ball to be. In the afternoons when the sun bounces on the disco ball it fills the room with its glittering light making the space look almost magical. I mean, just look at it! Doesn’t it feel as if Tinkerbell has flown around shedding a magical sprinkle of her pixie dust in my living room?
Covid has kept us all in and away from a disco ball’s natural habitat which is a disco, hasn’t it? What better place to add one then, if not by the bar cart. I just love how it feels as if it’s rolled out of a disco and into my house!
Although they are so sparkly, they are also neutral enough to complement any corner of the house so I added one in the study bookcase and one in the living room shelves.
For extra daydreaming I hang a string of tiny disco balls on the curtain rod! The question that needs to be answered now I suppose is where to get one or two or maybe a dozen! Well, I bought mine from a DJ equipment store here and you can do so as well if you live in Greece. Otherwise, here’s a wish list I’ve compiled on Amazon for you to choose from.
What do you think? Are you ready to decorate your house with disco balls all year round too or not?
